Hello and welcome to SafeHands Nursing Care. We are a nurse-led complex home care provider. In this short video, we explain how to contact us, what happens next and how we can support you from the very first conversation.

If you or someone you love needs complex care at home, the first step does not have to feel overwhelming. You do not need to have everything figured out before you contact us. Even if you are still gathering information, we can signpost you and help you understand what comes next.

You can contact SHNC directly whether you are arranging care privately, using direct payments or working with a personal health budget. If care is being discussed through a local authority, the NHS or another funding route, that referral conversation can still include SHNC as your preferred provider. If needed, we can liaise with funding teams with you so the process feels simpler and everyone is working from the same plan.

After your first contact, one of our nurses will usually review the enquiry within 24 to 48 hours. From there, we carry out a clinical assessment, talk through needs and begin planning care around the person at the centre of it. We take time to understand your health needs, daily routine, equipment, preferences and personal goals. We then explain the care team, hours, training, costs and proposed start date.

If the package is agreed and the required funding approval is in place, together we select your care team and make sure they receive the training and competency assessments needed for your specific care. We make sure the right team is trained and supported with nurse-led oversight, so care is safe, consistent and tailored to real daily life.

You do not need to have all the answers before contacting us. That is what the first conversation is for. Call us on 0208 050 0098 or email contact@shnc.org.uk. You can also visit www.shnc.org.uk. At SHNC, we believe care should enable your life, not replace it.
