Palliative and end-of-life care

Clinical support, comfort and dignity when time matters.

SafeHands supports adults who wish to receive palliative or end-of-life care in familiar surroundings, with nursing input, personal care and close coordination with the professionals already involved.

Arranging care

When care is needed quickly.

Every care arrangement begins with an assessment so we can understand the person’s needs and confirm that suitable support can be provided. We will discuss the timing with you, taking account of staffing, equipment and agreed care arrangements.

Support can include

Calm, capable care at home.

Explore support areas
  • Comfort-focused personal care
  • Symptom observation and escalation

  • Pressure-area care and repositioning
  • Continence, nutrition and hydration support within the care plan
  • Respiratory support where required
  • Registered nursing input
  • Night care and continuous care
  • Care in the final days and hours
  • Coordination with GPs, district nurses, hospices and specialist palliative teams

The person’s wishes

Respecting what matters.

Care considers preferred routines, privacy, culture, communication, family involvement, preferred place of care and advance-care documentation already in place.

We work with the person, their family and treating team to understand their wishes and the care arrangements already in place.

Supporting relatives

Time to be family.

A prepared care team can allow relatives to spend more time as relatives, rather than personally managing every element of care.
